Hotline Volunteer

Hotline Volunteers are the "911 Operators" for wildlife

With over 6,000 calls a year, hotline is how people reach CWCC with animals that need help. We take pride in our fast response time, accurate information, professionalism and willingness to help.

No previous wildlife knowledge needed! We will teach you all that you need to know.

Hotline shift consists of listening to voicemails and responding accurately to hotline calls. Some examples of calls we receive are:

  • How to reunite a squirrel is its mother

  • What to do if a dog found a rabbit's nest

  • How to humanely evict wildlife from unwanted areas

  • How to transport an injured or orphaned animal

Hotline volunteers:

  • Cover a consistent once a week shift for four hours

  • Shifts are covered from the comfort of your own home

  • Expected to be reliable, punctual, professional and kind

  • Have basic technology knowledge: be able to copy and paste, use google documents, type proficiently

  • Have consistent and reliable access to the internet

All Hotline Training is via a pre-recorded video training session. You will be asked to view this 1.5 hour training video prior to your first shift. Details will be provided upon filling out the corresponding form.

Thank you for wanting to help the wildlife!
